Controlled microwaves effectively target the connective tissue between fat cell lobules to diminish the dimpled appearance of cellulite.
The typical ‘orange peel’ texture of cellulite is determined by the consistent presence of large fibrous shoots of collagen that constrict the natural lobulation of adipose tissue (loose connective tissue that cushions and insulates the body). Microwaves at 2.4 GHz penetrate the subcutaneous layer of the skin and are absorbed by these fibrous connective branches of collagen, causing them to dissolve and remove the non-elastic weft constricting the adipose lobules. New and more elastic fibres of collagen are regenerated in their place.
